DVD Reviews & Giveaway: Old Dogs
Old Dogs starring John Travolta, Robin Williams, Kelly Preston, Conner Rayburn, Ella Bleu Travolta, Lori Laughlin, Seth Green, Bernie Mac, Matt Dillon Justin Long, Ann Margaret, Dax Shephard, Luis Guzman, Amy Sedaris and Rita Wilson was very disappointing. Such great stars deserved some kind of story line. They kept trying to find one, but none was to be found.
The superficial plot - highly successful business partners and lifelong friends Dan and Charlie are frick 'n frack. Dan (Robyn Williams) is tedious and straight-laced, while Charlie (John Travolta) is a middle aged skirt chaser with charisma. Dan's ex-wife, a woman he still loves appears with their twins (Dan's first indication that he's a dad). She is going to jail as an activist. Can Dan watch the twins? Dan demands that Charlie help him. The plot goes downhill from there.
It seems a shame that such a great cast all seasoned actors, two great child actors and a lousy title create a cur of a mongrel mix. The plot slams shut with no laughs and a lot of plot-less go nowhere action. I still adore Travolta and Williams and loved watching for that reason alone. Too bad.

There were actually some fun scenes and bloopers, probably even some that were better than the actual movie. I enjoyed watching these.

It's always interesting to hear what they have to day, although the kids were not at all interested.
