Broad A Takes the Cheap Date Night Challenge!

When I heard about Collective Bias’ Cheap Date Night Challenge, along with a FREE Blockbuster Express movie I felt exuberant!  Goodness knows, this will be my first date in 10 years. So whom did I choose?  I chose a Girls Night In, with my friend Debra.  Just in case she couldn’t make it, Plan B is Family Night Out with my family.  So either way, I get to see a free movie (Sandra Bullock?  Here I come).  I just made a resolution to spend more quality time with my BFF’s – my girlfriend Debra has just experienced a traumatic accident and we’re both vegans (well, I am a vegan who eats chicken, pork, beef and a little tofu J).

So I ran (in the car) to Blockbuster Express, the only one in Utah, luckily in Sandy,  just a few miles from home.  I got a cool video (I am not telling which one I picked that isn’t fair but you will see in pics!) with my movie rental code and then went shopping – ($25.00 was the limit for foodies and dinner makings) so in the cart went broccoli, carrots, aida sausages, potatoes, garlic, bread and soda, with Ben & Jerry’s as dessert.

Girls Night In had begun!  Debra arrived with a good bottle of wine (like Broad Z, Debra is a Mansionetta) and we hogged in!  See us in front of the TV?  (See Jane run? Sorry, I don’t often get “out” so I get very excited!).   

Just what we needed – gossip, makeup talk, work talk, guy talk, a great movie (thanks Blockbuster Express) and a great meal to boot!  The evening was fun and warm, the food simple and delightful, the movie great – but most of all we created a tradition.  Once a week with a Blockbuster Express movie and a dinner – how priceless is that?

    Ok, so I gotta ask, how did you like the movie? You picked one that I have not seen yet? So I saw a great movie today - The Blind Side - AWESOME, you gotta check it out. It's available at the Blockbuster Express kiosk too - and oddly enough, not available at Netflix or redbox....?

    Yes, I want to see The Blind Side as well. Blockbuster has an exclusive deal with Warner Brothers movies....that's why they had it first.
