Book Reviews: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

First said, I hate zombies.  Torch me, send me into a dark wood with trolls, set me up to watch “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” – but don’t give me ZOMBIES.

That said, I love good, creative plots and falling into the characters in the novels I read.  Since “Pride and Prejudice” is one of my favorite classics, I myself found P&P with Zombies just a little silly and trying hard to be “camp.”  Mr. Bennett, Mrs. Bennett, the forever matchmaker, their five daughters, Mr. Bingely and Mr. Darcey were as surprised as I was to find themselves smack dab in the middle of a novel enhanced not by Dolby Surround Sound but zombies – on every single page.  Mr. Grahame-Smith’s monstrous insertions lend a grandeur to the original book, but that said – did I say that I hate ZOMBIES?  There remains a large amount of brain eating, cannibalistic gore and zombie crunching that sways around the original story, and therefore, I am handing this review over to those who have a better imagination than I have.  (Broad Z always says my reviews are too long…).

An absolutely great and creative  book – for zombie lovers!  You know who you are!
