Music Reviews & Giveaway: At Home With Friends

Joshua Bell will be on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien on October 2nd!!!

Violinist Joshua Bell – with his friends – Sting, Chris Botti, Carel Kraayenhiof, Josh Groban, and many more –

This mellifluous and emotion-driven CD reveals renditions of songs that move you and fill you up. Exquisite, haunting, fluid, emotive and versatile, I listened to this album and simply lost myself to the timpanic quality and gentle flutterings of strings, violin, piano, sitar and the utterly fantastic arrangements of Joshua Bell andhis famous friends. “Maybe So” had me ceili dancing in County Cork, while “My Funny Valentine” with Kristin Chenoweth had me in in tears. By far, the loveliest arrangement of this classic I have heard. A quintessentially Joshua Bell classic that will be the hit of the season. EXQUISITE.

As much as I enjoyed Mr. Bell’s famous friends, and they are fabulous, Josjua Bell’s violin arrangements and performances reminded me of a great novel. A transportation into another realm that has the power to create transcendence and great art. This CD thrills and enchants. Like Sarah Brightman, or the River Dance, every single song trills to the fingers and charm of the violin and piano arpeggios that had me playing this CD over and over. Just bliss.
