CD Reviews & Giveaway: Slice
One of my favorite banks John Ondrasik/Five for Fighting is releasing a brand new CD and this is one of those times when I'm incredibly excited to be reviewing it. Quite often we're reviewing products, music and movies that we're seeing/hearing for the first time. It's such a TREAT to be reviewing a FAVORITE.
I'm sure that you well know them from "Superman" - played over and over again as the theme of the 9/11 disaster. Still keeping with the America theme, Slice brings us a slice of Americana that can only be touched via his music.
With the help of Stephen Schwarts (of Godspell, Pippen and Wicked fame) Ondrasik is once again bringing us tunes that will become anthems. The co-written "Slice" is destined to be one of those songs that will have you playing replay on your CD player or MP3 player over and over again.
There's not a bad or even a mediocre track on this album and you'll be singing along with "Chances" the first single from this amazing CD. This is one of those singer/songwriter songs that easily crosses over to pop.
“Every round I try to write the best songs I can, and perhaps step out of the box a bit. To me, records are about offering my worldview while providing sentiments to which people may attach themselves or escape into. Slice is where I’ve come from, where I am, and a few scraps I’ve picked up in between. All in a slice of time.”
